I. Purpose The purpose of the scholarship is to facilitate academic exchange with the international community by attracting outstanding international students.
II. Regulations The regulations is provided in accordance with the "Ministry of Education subsidizes the universities and their affiliated Chinese language study institutes to establish the international student scholarship work stipulation."
III. Eligibility The aforesaid "international students" shall mean students of foreign nationality, neither overseas Chinese nor ROC nationals, who obtain the Alien Resident Certificate from Ministry of Interior or the municipality city police bureau.
IV. Scholarship Information In principal, the scholarship provides the reduction of incidental school tuition, accommodation expense, and other relative fees. The maximum length of time a student can receive the scholarship is four academic years for students in undergraduate, and two academic years for students in master programs. If necessary, could extend one more year. 1. Full scholarship Subsidize the total amount of incidental school tuition, accommodation expense, and other relative fees. 2. Partial scholarship Subsidize part of incidental school tuition, accommodation expense, and other relative fees.
V. Application Procedure and Deadline 1. First School Year Applicants of new admission must obtain "Application Form for Scholarship" of Shu-Te University, official graduate certificate, term transcript, and English qualification document which were screened by the departments before approval by the Office of Research and Development. 2. Second School Year and afterwards Interested students should submit completed "Application Form for Scholarship" of Shu-Te University, including the letter of reference from the director of the enrolled or graduated educational Institution and the transcript with an academic average of 80 or above. Applicants should apply to the Office of Research and Development before July.
VI. Founding 1. Ministry of Education subsidizes the university and their affiliated Chinese language study institutes to establish the international student scholarship stipulation. 2. Offer by the annual budget from the International Cooperation Division, Office of Research and Development.
VII. Other items of note 1. Each institution will nominate its number of awarded students and types of scholarship before January and acquire the permission of the president. Then hand over to the Office of Research and Development for budgeting. 2. Each institution will select the award international students based on the number allocated. 3. Scholarship will begin from the month of student enrollment. 4. The grant amount is issued and adjusted by the Ministry of Education.
VIII. This regulation comes into effect up on the approval of the Administrative Committee. Amendments to this regulation should follow the same procedure.
