The following regulations are established in accordance with “Regulations Governing Study by Foreign Students of Shu-te University .”
(1)International students to be admitted to STU refer to those who do not have legal status as an overseas Chinese or hold a R.O.C. nationality. (2)Those who have annulled R.O.C. nationality for 8 years or more are eligible to apply. "Eight years” specified in the preceding paragraph is from the date the applicant’s ROC nationality is revoked to the date the semester begins on the calendar of STU. (3)The regulation in (2) does not apply to students who are covered under academic or cultural exchange agreements. (4)Applicants to apply for undergraduate programs are required to have adequate listening, reading, speaking and writing proficiency in the Chinese language recognized by Chinese teachers; college graduates for two-year or four-year bachelor’s degree in the third year; bachelor’s degree for master programs.
Application date: March 1 ~ April 30 each year. Application received after the deadline will not be processed. If the application is sent by postal mail, the date of application is decided by postmark. Application fee and documents: Please organize your documents in the following order with a paper clip holding on the upper left. (a) How to pay application fee? NT$1,200 / US$40. (Should the application fee remitted by post to the receiver under the name of Shu-te University ) (b) Application form: application form * 2 with autograph in person and a 2-inch photo taken in the past three months attached to the form (c) Two photocopies of the highest degree diploma obtained from a foreign educational institution.(A notarized translation with official stamp/seal in either Chinese or English should be submitted if the diploma is in neither of these languages. ) Two photocopies of official transcripts with official stamp/seal from this highest level school (in Chinese or in English). (d) Two recommendation letters (inclusive of one referred by a Mandarin teacher) (e) One passport photo (personal vita and validation date) (f) A copy of health statement issued by a medical practitioner or an authorized health institution. HIV test results should be included. (g) A study plan in Chinese or in English. (h) A proof of financial ability (a statement showing sufficient financial support for the entire duration of applicant’s education in the ROC).
